Brand New Eyes

In honor of Paramore's new album that released this week, I thought I would give you a review if you haven't listened to it yet. And if you haven't listened...you need to go right now and buy it. You can get it for $3.99 on iTunes right now. So no excuses!

I've been waiting for this album to drop for a while. I totally rearranged my day Tuesday so I could get it. When I got back in the mom-mobile with my three kick ass kids, we put it in, turned up the volume and banged our heads along to these awesome songs. My kids are awesome, btw...

But what struck me more than anything...and each and every time I listen to this album is the fact that MY Hayley could have written this album for MY Rob! Seriously...It's as if their relationship just continued through these songs. Two songs, in particular - "The Only Exception" and "All I Wanted" just scream Par Amour to me. It's kinda awesome. Now, granted, my brain is more twisted than most, but I've had reviewers this week say the same thing. But, I think the reason I love "The Only Exception" is because I could have written that song. Totally mine and my husband, Danny's life story right there.

Hayley has such a talent for writing honest songs, but before, a lot of her stuff was metaphorically honest. This one is just simplistically honest, and to me, it just means she's growing up...just like my Hayley.

If you've listened to this album, I'd like to know your opinion of it. I personally think it's the best album they have ever made, and I really didn't think it could get any better than RIOT!. There's not one song on this album that I don't love. So...anyway, I'd love for you guys to chime in and let me know what you think. If you haven't gotten the album yet, I would encourage you to go out and get it this weekend. It really is that good!
